JOIN INVINT GROUPIf you answered “Yes” to these questions, then it is time for you to join the team INVINT to help get your ideas out of the closet and work for you. INVINT stands for INnovation VIability NeTwork. This is a team of local and regional innovators and experts assembled to help you get your ideas off the drawing board and transform them into a viable product or service. Meetings are for members only, and while registration in the group is free, you must sign up to join the group. Inspired by i3 (Illinois Innovators and Inventors) in Edwardsville, Illinois, INVINT incorporates a peer review model to assist local inventors and innovators to take the “next” step through the commercialization process. The Steering Meeting allows local and regional innovators to communicate their needs and assist in drawing up an action plan to meet those needs. INVINT intends to meet once a month and provide general not-for-profit business updates with discussion, followed by an educational segment given by an expert in the field. Next, the group will incorporate a “networking” segment where inventors and innovators will be encouraged to share their ideas in a confidential, non-public disclosure format so that they can gain advice from other members who have experience in the next steps of moving the “idea” into a tangible product or service. Along with helping regional inventors and innovators entrepreneurial steps, the organization plans to provide community outreach services through education and sponsorship. Becoming a member of INVINT is about giving, and understanding that it is through this type of community support, we can make innovation and invention a rewarding experience.
